ALMAR - Restaurant brand design

ALMAR is a restaurant located in a one Michelin key hotel called ESH in the jungle of the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. ALMAR wants to be more than just a place to eat, they want to create an experience for you to connect with nature, your food and yourself. I was asked to create the visual identity and brand. A high-end dining place in a casual setting clearly connected to the surrounding nature.

ALMAR is a wordplay which references to the word 'alma' in Spanish, which means soul, and to the phrase 'al mar', which means going to the sea.

I created a logo where the text, just like the actual restaurant, is hidden in nature. The abstract pattern symbolizes the ocean but also the jungle leaves around it.

The menu is a continuation of the logo and reflects the quality of the restaurant yet feels natural and relaxed.
